Wondercon!

Wondercon's this weekend and I'll be prowling around on Friday and Saturday. If a discomfiting flash of light happens to glint off a pair of mile-wide glasses and momentarily blind you, you've probably spotted me somewhere amidst the masses. Feel free to say "hi," if'n you're so inclined. I won't bite!

Here's the first of those bookmark designs I mentioned a few weeks back. Not sure if I like this combination of graphite and digital coloring, though. Maybe I should abandon the whole black-and-white outside/color interior approach and go full-on color?

Another Dragon-Related WIP

This is going to be finished up with ink, watercolor, and gouache once that foot gets fixed up. Truth be told, said stick-and-ball foot was fully-pencilled earlier, but then I was informed that legs don't quite bend that way.

Must...resist...urge to poke at niggling details that scream to be corrected....

On that note, I'm not sure if it's my monitor or my graphics card, but working in subtle steps up from pure black result in these weird patches of pixels that appear to vibrate. Blending over these trouble spots in Painter doesn't do a thing to fix it, so it's definitely not a software issue. True, they'll probably just convert to pure black when printed, but it's still perplexing.
